Each cabin has a large, comfortable bed, private bathroom and window which can be opened. Modern Shipbuilding
Green Ray is a unique combination of traditional Dalmatian ship design and modern shipbuilding techniques, designed and built by industry veterans.
15th Century Design
Green Ray is built in line with authentic Croatian wooden boats called trabakul. Once the mainstay of coastal shipping, these wooden freight ships date to the 15th century when they were used as a Dalmatian-Venetian merchant vessels, taking their name from ‘trabacca’ or tent, a nod to the shape of the boat’s sails. Slow, reliable, and made of oak and larch, they had round bows and sterns, and were wide, compact and with good stowage.
Modern piece of history
Ranging between 50 to 200 tons a typical trabakul was 20 meters long, had two masts with lug-sails and rigging, a bowsprit, and large rudder extended below the depth of the keel. Trabakul had carved and colorfully painted stern, a breadth equal to about a third of the length and a crew of 10-20 ‘trabaccolos’. The idea of her owners and creators is to offer their guests unique possibility to experience Croatian coast surrounded by Croatian history and hospitality as much as possible.
Built for comfort
Green Ray is a truly unique combination of traditional Croatian shipbuilding and modern-day yacht construction and technologies. The design of the ship was made to reflect and, to an extent, recreate, the look of the traditional Trabakul ship-type. This sailboat hosts up to 12 passengers in 6 modern and flexibly arranged cabins, equipped with a minibar, TV, air-conditioning and of course en- suite facilities.
Perfected for relaxation
Our guest will surely enjoy the large sun deck, perfect for sunbathing during the sail, or enjoying during swim stops. It is powered by twin 200-HP John Deere engines, which move this 28- meter-long ship at the times when sailing is not an option. Our guests’ comfort and satisfaction are guaranteed and taken care of by our 4-people-crew, consisting of a Captain, a sailor, a Chef and a hostess.
